Notes on the files PiedCuckoo2009.xls, PiedCuckoo2009.ods and PiedCuckoo2009.csv

1. These files contains records submitted to the MigrantWatch database on or before 8 September 2009, and contains only records from May 2009 onwards.

2. Sighting_type is as specified by the person who reported the date. Note that a "general" sighting may sometimes be the first from a region.

3. Latitude and Longitude are not meant to be interpreted as precisely as the number of decimal places may suggest.

4. Monsoon arrival dates are taken from the 2009 monsoon arrival map available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, Pune. These dates are not expected to be very accurate for any given location, but are meant to reflect general variation across the country.
